Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without our written permission. However, there are a few exceptions that you should be aware of:
- Suspected child abuse (past or present) or neglect.
- Evidence of elder abuse.
- Suspected possession of child pornography.
- If you are in danger of seriously hurting yourself or someone else.
- A court order or subpoena of information or records related to mental health.
Your confidentiality is sacred to me. If one of these situations arises, I will make my best effort to keep your information safe and, if it is at all possible, will discuss with you what action may need to be taken.
